Rosco Rides Again – World Record Attempt Family Fun Day

With just over three and a half weeks to go until the “Rosco Rides Again” World Record Attempt, the planning for the event has been going very nicely indeed.

We now have a venue which is the Victoria Park Racecourse thanks to the great team at the Adelaide City Council plus, we now have official start and finish times for the event.

“Rosco Rides Again” starts at 1pm Friday October 26th until 5pm Saturday October 27th. The Guinness World Record which Care Radio Australia’s fearless leader Ross Hood is attempting to break is “the longest distance travelled in a 24 hour period on a motorised scooter.”

Go Rosco! You can do it.

One of the most important things about this record attempt is that it’s also a family fun day so Ross doesn’t have to do this attempt alone. He has a number of supporters and volunteers who are donating their time to help out with the event but there’s always room for more help.

If you’re free anytime between 1pm on Friday October 26th and 5pm on Saturday October 27th and you want to help out in any capacity (especially as an official timekeeper) then please contact us.

On the day there will be jumping castles, face painting for the kids, food and drink for all plus music and entertainment to keep everyone in a fantastic mood as they cheer on Ross as he attempts to break the Guinness World Record.

If you want to spur on Ross by driving your own scooter or wheelchair around the track then go to the Care Radio Australia website for more details.

All profits from the event will go to help the Children’s Cancer Association, The PenneyHood Foundation and Care Radio Australia. The event is proudly sponsored by SACare, Total Support Services and Care Radio Australia.

Remember, make sure you put this in your diary…

Rosco’s Record Raising Ride Needs Your Help

Hot on the heels of his last scooter ride, Rosco is at it again but this time he wants to break the record for the greatest distance covered in 24 hours by motorised wheelchair or mobility scooter.

“Rosco’s Record Raising Ride” will be raising money at the same time but bear in mind that this ride will be done on a racing track not on the open road like his last one.

Is he crazy? Yes he is…

Is he going to do it? Absolutely 🙂

To make this ride possible however, Rosco does need your help. If you’re able to lend him a hand in any of the following items/areas:

  • Two gophers and set off batteries
  • Spare tyres and tubes
  • Caravan for the whole team to rest in
  • Water urn disposable cups and cutlery
  • Hats, sunblock, umbrellas and medication bandages
  • Food and drink for the team
  • First aid kit
  • Clothing (sponsorship)
  • Barbecue, generator, eskys
  • Track sponsorship
  • Vehicle to tow gophers
  • Fuel sponsors
  • Administration help

Once again, if you’re able to help out in any way please call Rosco on 0403474042 or contact Care Radio.
